Some Of The Fun From The Everything's Coming Up Milton Good Friday Skate Jam

Over the Easter bank holiday we held the Everything's Coming Up Milton Skate Jam, which was the first proper event we've been able to put on at the new and rejuvenated Milton Skatepark that has been partially funded by us here at Bored along with Milton Town Council. The new obstacles have been in use for a lttle while, but we wanted to wait for the weather to get a bit better to put an event on.

Despite it raining heavily the day before and the tarmac not being too quick to dry, the morning of the jam we were greeted by blue skys and a dry skatepark....with a lot of help from Gary and his broom. Big up Gaz. The jam kicked off from around midday with all the locals in attendance, as well as a good show of faces that had made the trip from out of town too.

After a pretty heavy free for all session we got down to the Game of S.K.A.T.E competitions, with the under 16's first up and then the 16's and over after that. This all concluded with store rider Phil Russell taking the honours, after seeing off the likes of Marc SA Carter, Jak Tonge, Jay Pateman, Jake Skinner, Nick Munday, Jack White and Matt Grey amongst others.

Next up was a few best trick competitions over the driveway and on the large block, with the whole place going off all afternoon in the sunshine. We called time on the session and worked out who the prizes would get handed out to, and handed out some giveaways to the kids and all went home happy. We hope that this will be the first of many.

A massive thank you goes out to all of the companies and distributors that donated prizes for the day, Polar Skate Co, The National Skateboard Co, Keen Dist, Lakai Ltd, Form Dist, Spitfire Wheels, Independent Trucks, Shiner Dist, Altamont Apparel, 14:01 Skateboards and Signature Clothing. Further thanks goes out to Adam Keys for being MC all day and putting in a full shift after no sleep the night before, Luke Newland for kindly supplying an incredibly hi-tech looking sound system, the landlord of the Milton Arms for being a champ letting us steal his electricity, Marc Churchill for building and helping make the park actually happen and last of all Milton Town Council for providing us with a great little skatepark where lots of kids can have fun. And of course a big shout out to everyone who came down for the day.
