The New Balance Numeric 272 in Black/Black/White is a brand new silhouette from Numeric in 2021, it has a classic low profile vulcanised construction and a suede/textile upper. There's no doubting that making a good skate shoe was NB's focus for the 272 when designing this shoe, with a re-enforced one piece suede toebox and eyestay for maxium wear and abrasion from griptape as well as general abuse from skateboarding. Other features of the Numeric 272 include a textile waist and quarters, rubber overlays on the heel to also counter abraision, preforated padded shoe lining, an Ortholite insole, woven NB# 272 tongue label, bright white 'N' logo and high performance herrinbone rubber outsole.
We wanted to put a pair of the New Balance Numeric 272 shoes to a wear test, and there's no one better to do it than our man Phil Russell. He's been wearing NB's for a little while now and was more than happy to put the Numeric 272 shoes through their paces with his powerful brand of all terrain destruction on a skateboard. So we took Phil and the 272's down to the location of Portsmouth's new Undercover Skatepark Project to film a few lines in a pair of the shoes for us, which he happily obliged. The skatepark is still in the funding stage, so at the moment the site is mostly empty apart from a handful of blocks, bars and a small quarterpipe but that's still enough to have some fun with. So head below to check out the skate clip of Phil shredding the USP site in a pair of the New Balance Numeric 272 shoes in Black/Black/White, or shop all New Balance at Bored here.
