Liverpool's finest Lost Art have teamed up once again with New Balance Numeric for their latest shoe collaboration, this time taking inspiration from some of the city's most iconic buildings and structures. The NM22 shoe silhouette is based on a football boot with number coming from the amount of players on a pitch, so it makes sense with Liverpool being such a huge footballing city.
Much of the colour palette is taken from the buildings along the Pier Head such as the Liver Building, Port Authority, Cunard Building as well as the air vent to the Mersey Tunnel. With the main colour matching the Sandstone of those buildings after years of being skated and dulled by traffic pollution, and the Copper and Teal inspired by the ageing monuments and features on those buildings. Another nice touch is the Gold leaf letter used across the shoe which echoes the signage on the front of the buildings.
The shoe itself has been re-worked beautifully and given a high-end feel through a mix of premium suede, turned-in stitching, minimal branding and high quality White leather embossed tongue and Teal heel counter. Other features include a vulcanised construction, contrasting coloured see-through left and right soles and stitched Teal X's on the toe that are supposed to wear away when skated in. This is a nod to the past when you could tell if people skated from the wearing on their shoes... or not.
This is a beautifully thought out and well crafted shoe so don't hang about if you want a pair, they won't be hanging about.
NB Numeric x Lost Art NM22 Shoe will be available on Monday 14/06/21
