When Nike SB asked Stefan Janoski what he wanted to do for his signature shoe's 10 year anniversary he mentioned The Violent Femmes are his favourite band, and it'd be cool if they played at a function or something... and now they're they're doing a shoe together. The Janoski shoe has seen lots of colabs and colour-ways, but this one has gotta mean the most. Stefan even went in to the studio with the band and recorded a new more aggressive version of their 1994 hit song "I'm Nothing", with Janoski even being invited to help out on vocals. The Nike SB Zoom Janoski RM "Violent Femmes" shoe is one-of-a-kind and truly inspired by the lyrics of the song, with "I'm Nothing" hand written by Janoski and screened on the tongue taking the place of the classic label. The word "Violent" is chain stitched in a bright Tour Yellow on the outside of the left shoe, and on the right shoe is "Femmes" to spell out the bands name. An upside-down mirrored shadow type features on the rubber midsole below each of the words in the same bright yellow, which pops beautifully on this fresh white shoe. Other main features of the shoe include hand-drawn graphics on the insole which were made in collaboration between the band and Janoski, premium leather laces, a Zoom Air unit in the new plush sockliner and a flexible mid-sole which creates better boardfeel and extra flexibility right out the box.
These extremely limited Nike SB Janoski x Violent Femmes shoes are available from Bored and releasing at 8:00am on Thursday 15th August.
