After years of hard work fundraising by the local community, last week saw the official opening party for the new and extended Petersfield Skatepark. The re-build was made possible after over £200,000 was raised by local Petersfield charity Festival of Young People, and once funding was in place the good people at Gravity Skateparks did a great job with the build. To celebrate the opening of the new park Petersfield Town Council put on an all-day skate jam, with loads of Best Trick comps on different obstacles, dj sets, food stand, bands and plenty of giveaways. Our guy's Joe Arnfeld and Harry Simister took care of MC duties and all comp officiating, and even the mayor came along to make the opening official. A big thank you to all that came along to skate or support, Shrunken Head Skates in Alton. Not to mention Polar Skate Co, Skate Cafe, GX1000, Wayward Wheels, New Balance Numeric and Keen Dist for the prizes.
