Just around the corner is the 4th international SkateShop Day, this year it falls on Saturday the 18th February, and to celebrate our good friends at Deluxe Distribution have teamed up with hundereds of independent skateshops across the globe, each with it's own logo featured on custom SkateShop Day T-Shirts. The graphic for 2023's super limited tee comes from Mike Gigliotti, artist and former owner of Lotties skateshop. His "Support Your Local Skateshop" comic mace man design is printed on the back, with each skateshop's logo screened on the left breast.
In addition to the t-shirts Deluxe has also produced a limited run of SSD Real Skateboards decks, which feature the same Mike Gigliotti graphic as the cut & sew. The SkateShop Day Real deck is available in a variety of wood stain colours and sizes but there is a limited number, so move quickly if you wanna show your support for your local skate shop.
And if you're not sure, a Skate Shop Day participating store is defined as a skater owned and operated retailer whose main primary business focuses on full time, physical store locations, with a deep rooted commitment to skateboarding, and whose company is independently owned, and not publicly traded. (In other words, we’re talking about physical, indie skate shops. Not big online retailers or corporate behemoths).
A big thank you to everyone behind Skate Shop Day, Deluxe and Sam Barratt, for all of their hard work setting all of this up.
