Last Sunday (7th June 2026) Southsea Skatepark celebrated its 48th birthday by hosting an all-day event, featuring a series of jams, best trick comps and live music from local bands and DJ's. It ran from 10am - 6pm and was open to skaters, BMX, inline skates, quads and scooters alike, with events held for all disciplines throughout the day. Thankfully the rain held off and the turnout was great, with people young and old coming down to support the south of England's most iconic skatepark. In addition to all the kids tearing it up, it was also great to see a bunch of faces from over the years who still want to come down and support, even if they're not rolling about much any more. The guys from Portsmouth's other skatepark, Pitt St were kind enough to help out with the sound system, all coming together to help promote and support the local scene in the city. A big thanks to all that came down and congratulations to all involved with the day, can't wait for next years.
