As one of the most well known and recognisable brands on the planet there’s not much to say about Levi’s that isn’t common knowledge. Founded in 1853 when Levi Strauss arrived in San Francisco from Bavaria to open a west coast branch of his brothers New York based dry goods company. The manufacturing of denim overall’s started in the 1870’s, but it wasn’t until the 1890’s that the company produced the first pair of 501’s and that style went on the become the world’s biggest selling item of clothing. Levi’s has always continued to progress and innovate and a company, and this is very clear in their Levi’s Skateboarding Collection. Applying hardwearing and durable materials with classic workwear designs, and with such a rich history and vast back catalogue it is no wonder that the collection has become so popular with skaters and non-skaters that just like the product and the price. The brand has also heavily backed the building and construction of various skateparks around the world in run down or out of the way locations, which nicely comes full circle to there products being associated with construction and workwear as well as bringing skateboarding to those that haven’t previously had the opportunity.
