Carhartt WIP skate and explore the Scilian town of Gibellina Nuova in "Azzurro"
Carhartt WIP present Azzurro, a short film featuring skater and native Sicilian Mauro Caruso as he explores the extrordinary town of Gibelina Nuova. Back in 1968 the original town of Gibelina was destroyed by an earthquake, then re-built a matter of miles down the road but this time designed by some of the most respected architects and artists in Italy. The result was a place that resembled an open-air art exhibition more than a town, so no wonder why Mauro was so determined to complete the project despite taking seven years or so. But it was definately worth the wait, the whole film looks amazing and the town is a perfect canvas for skateboarding to collide with art. Filmed by Ludo Azémar.
